Destination Wedding Cards & Invitations

The first thing you will want to do is tell your guests about your wedding plans with a special “Save the Date” card. This might be the most important invitation that you will be sending to your guests. It is the first time that you will be letting them know about your destination plans. This card will allow them to make plans themselves. Knowing the details will allow them to save some money, book flights and hotels, take time off of work, etc. Sending your cards out as soon as possible, 9-12 months, is a nice courtesy. Make sure to include your names, the wedding date, location, and a link to your wedding site, if you have one. By giving your guests as much information as you can, it will allow them to get excited about your wedding.

Take this moment to design an invitation that reflects the beauty of the day to come. The wording of your invitation is very important. Instead of the traditional wording, why not write something that is romantic and fun. I was married in Aruba on the beach and my invitations read:

While the waves crash on the rocks
and the sun warms the sand
Bridget Murphy
&
Michael Zawilinski
Invite you to join us
as we exchange vows
at our desert wedding overlooking the sea.
(Where & When)

Choose colors that remind you of the beach, the sun, crashing waves, the moon – anything. Make your invitations beautiful and imaginative. There are many places that will create invitations for youFind Article, but you might also want to design them yourself.
